Speak Out for Abortion, Birth Control, and Healthcare for All
March 16 @ 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Lady Parts Justice League is keeping the momentum of the International Women’s Day Strike going throughout all of Women’s History Month! Wherever you live, we hope you’ll join in the action with us.
On Thursday, March 16th, LPJL is joining National Women’s Liberation for a Speak Out for Abortion, Birth Control, and Healthcare for All (and then getting beers at the Whiskey Tavern together afterward from 8-10!).
But no matter where you live, you can speak out and take action against the Trumpcare shitshow:
Dial up your Member of Congress and give them a piece of your mind. Fill in the form below, and we’ll connect you with your Congressperson! Here’s a ‘lil call script you can use:
“Hi, my name is _________ and I’m a constituent living in zip code ________. I support full access to abortion and the full range of reproductive health care for all people, and I expect YOU to as well. Do not repeal the Affordable Care Act, and demand higher Medicaid reimbursement rates.”
****EXTRA CREDIT CALL!
The National Women’s Law Center – along with several other awesome orgs – is organizing a grassroots call-in day to Secretary Price to voice support of no-cost birth control coverage! We’re going to flood the HHS phone lines with calls letting Secretary Price know that we won’t stand for any attacks on the birth control benefit. Here’s what you can do:
- Call Tom Price on Monday, March 13 at 202-690-7000. If you can’t get through on that line, you can use the main HHS number: 1-877-696-6775 and hit 5 (five).
- Use the following script:
Hi, my name is [insert name] and I am from [State]. I am calling today because I am really concerned that Secretary Price might try to take away insurance coverage of birth control. Having no-cost birth control coverage from the health care law has been so important to me and others across the country. I want to make sure Secretary Price hears from me: please protect this benefit. Our health and economic security depend on it. [If you have any additional comments, you can add them here].
